Where is my mind?

Ally: You want ME to drive?
Daniel: Hey, it's the 80's!

Besides hitting the books pretty hard over the last couple of days, I've somehow squeezed in time to watch a couple of great movies.

Firstly, I watched The Karate Kid.
I know what you're thinking, "That movie is terrible!", but I like it regardless of it's lame catchphrases and extremely predictable plot (ala Rocky). I dig the 80's soundtrack, and the fact that in the movie, the entire San Fernando Valley is obsessed with karate (which seems more funny every time I watch it). I 'm guessing that this would of sparked millions of youngsters everywhere to take up karate, and parents to con their kids into washing cars and painting fences to help their 'karate skills'.

Special note: The song Daniel by alternative artist Bat for Lashes was inspired by the movie.

Secondly... I watched Stanly Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange.

Brilliant movie. Really really good. For those who haven't seen the movie or read the book I won't spoil it here for you, because the best part of this movie is it's shock value, along with it's sense of finding the meaning of goodness in this world.

Admittedly, I downloaded this via a torrent to watch it. Quicktime was running a bit slow, so I decided to check if the movie was legit by skipping ahead 20 mins or so, and I honestly thought I had downloaded a porno instead. Turns out themes like rape are a major part of the film, so I'd hardly recommend it to the faint-hearted. If you're feeling a bit sinister though, grab a glass of 'milk plus' and enjoy!

10/10.

Special note: I am getting so good at making my mix CDs, the ebb and flow is orgasmic. I honestly just sat still in my room listening to the incredible nature of my current mix over and over for about 3 hours. Waste of time? HARDLY!
