Rock a Beard.

A little while ago, someone told me I'd look good with a beard. Being 17, with limited facial-hair regrowth, this seems a little while off for me. I've always idolised people with the ability to grow an awesome beard, so today - I'm paying tribute to my top 5 favourite beards in the music world.

#5 Angus Stone (Angus and Julia Stone)

Not the most well-known beard on the list, but a great beard none-the-less. Angus has prayed to the beard gods after only having stubble on his first album, and now the Australian folk star has a beard for the ages.

Beard Rating: 8/10

#4 George Harrison (The Beatles)

Everyone has their favourite Beatle. But George was always the forgotten Beatle. Whilst everyone was caught up in the magic of John, Paul and Ringo - they ignored the amazing beard growing ability of George. Now sure, his hair in general got a bit out of hand post-Beatles, but you have to admire his intent for beard growth (or lack of intent to find a barber).

Beard Rating: 8/10

#3 Andy Hull (Machester Orchestra)

I'm going to admit it. There are much better beards in the world than that of Mr. Andy Hull, frontman of Manchester Orchestra. But at the young age of 22, Andy's commitment to beard-growing is downright phenomenal. Special note: Is he taking a shit?

Beard Rating: 8/10

#2 William Fitzsimmons

This guy's beard is crazy. It's thickness is amazing. Imagine running that shit through your fingers. You'll probably find remains of dinner from last week... and possibly a family of molerats. I don't think I'm keen to grow a beard of that proportion. Good on him though.

Beard Rating: 10/10

#1 Jesus

All controversies aside, Jesus has influenced generations after generations of musicians in their music... and beard growing. He has the perfect beard. I'm no Christian, but the beard needs respect.

Beard Rating: Jesus/10

On a scale of 1 to Jesus, how good is your beard growing skill?

P.S. I hate ZZ Top.

Rainbows and Unicorns

Someone told me the other day that my blog is too dark. I didn't quite realise at the time, but images of the horrifically brilliant Un chien andalou aren't for everyone. But I don't care.

Your blog has to represent you. I feel I'm not very whimsical, so I wouldn't usually post about rainbows and unicorns... but what the hell.

My little brother and I are here at home by ourselves for the next couple of days. This means no going out and very little 'cooked' meals. Thank god for microwaves.

Back on the theme of unicorns though, I highly suggest you listen to the band The Unicorns. If you haven't checked them out all ready, do so.
