Kiss off

Ew, Valentine's Day.
It's just around so the card, chocolate and flower companies have another day in the year to bank on. Plus it sucks shit when you're single. Time for an ironic image of pop culture to coincide with this day of the year just to change subject? I think so.

Kiss used to freak me out when I was a kid. I think it was the face paint and half glam-rock, half Norwegian death-metal attire that got to me. Anything demonic always used to give me nightmares.

But I guess the funny thing with Kiss is that their music is vastly different from the type of sound that you'd expect when you first see them. Glam-rock, although considered "hard" for it's time, is nowhere near as heavy as the hard stuff and metal of today's music scene.

Now all of a sudden the band's popularity is becoming more apparent with today's younger audience through pop culture. There was the 2008 film Role Models, a few Gene Simmons reality TV shows which rekindled a bit of popularity, and perhaps my favourite pop cultural Kiss reference of all is through the Family Guy Christmas special where a show pops on the television called Kiss Saves Santa. Hilarity ensues. Family Guy has it's moments that's for sure.

Santa can shreds while he sleds. Bad poetry, oh noetry.

Let's finish with the usual, a fitting song.

Happy Valentine's Day, use protection guys.

'I wanna rock n' roll all night, and part of everyday.'
